NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz women’s soccer team fought through two overtime periods to settle for a tie this afternoon against Russell Sage (1-0-2). For Russell Sage it was their second tie in as many games.
SUNY New Paltz (2-2-1) maintained possession of the ball for the majority of the game, but failed to put any shots past freshman goalie Schuyler Kokernak (Watervliet, NY). Kokernak totaled seven saves on fourteen SUNY New Paltz shots, including six by sophomore forward Alison Fliegel (New Hyde Park, NY).
The Hawks held the Gators to only one shot on goal throughout all four periods. Senior goalie Maggie Fenton (East Meadow, NY) earned her second straight shutout.
The SUNY New Paltz women’s soccer team will host Vassar this Wednesday (Sept. 15) at 3:30 p.m.
