SUNY New Paltz Indoor Track Teams Run at the Armory Track and Field Center
NEW YORK, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s and women’s indoor track teams traveled to New York City to test their legs at the Armory Track and Field Center, one of the country’s fastest indoor tracks.
Several of the New Paltz athletes proved how fast the track was, setting SUNYAC qualifying times, season-best times and/or personal-best marks in their events.
Sophomores Kate Choromanski (Shelton, CT) and Michelle Martinez (Newburgh, NY) each ran a SUNYAC qualifying time in their event. Choromanski ran a 2:28.00 in the 800 meters and Martinez sprinted the 400 meters in a time of 1:02.06.
Sophomores Musu Jackson-Buckner (Buffalo, NY) and Janet Walsh (Baldwinsville, NY) completed their events in season-best times. Jackson-Buckner burned up the track in the 400 meters in a time of 1:00.60 while Walsh finished the 3000 meters in a time of 11:05.00.
Junior Kelly Moore (Rochester, NY) and freshman Anthony Bryant (Norwich, NY) each set a personal best time in their races. Moore shaved 11 seconds off her previous best time in the 3000 meters by finishing the race in 12:23.00. Bryant cruised around the track in a time of 51.50 in the 400 meters.
The Hawks return to the track on Saturday, February 7th when they travel to Pennsylvania to compete at the East Stroudsburg Invitational beginning at 11:00 am.
