Hawks Roll Past Hunter 6-1
NEW PALTZ, NY — New Paltz men’s tennis improved to 7-4 Wednesday with a 6-1 win over Hunter College.
The Hawks continued to play well against their opposition in doubles as they swept all three matches.
In #1 doubles, Tiby Taran (Brooklyn, NY) and Brad Breakstone (Mount Kisco, NY) evened their record at 4-4 on the year with an 8-2 win over Lev Slootsky and Vince Salomson. Nick Finger (Glenmont, NY) and Bobby Calise (East Islip, NY) upped their season record to 6-5 in #2 doubles with an 8-4 win over Bill Murtha and Zhibin Ye and in #3 doubles, Josh Greenspan (North Babylon, NY) and Jason Letts (Colebrook, NH) continued to roll with an 8-0 win. The duo now stands at 5-2 for the season.
In singles play, Breakstone, Calise, Greenspan and Brian Palmenteri (Howard Beach, NY) all won in straight sets and Taran won in three.

Doubles: 1) Taran/Breakstone (NP) defeated Slootsky/Salomson (H) 8-2. 2) Finger/Calise (NP) defeated Murtha/Ye (H) 8-4. 3) Greenspan/Letts (NP) defeated Salazar/Shenderovich (H) 8-0.
