More ECAC, SUNYAC Qualifiers for Hawks at Hamilton Invite

HAMILTON, NY — This weekend at the Hamilton Invitational, New Paltz outdoor track and field added several ECAC and SUNYAC qualifiers for the upcoming championships.

Musu Jackson-Buckner (Buffalo, NY), who qualified last week at USMMA for the ECAC Championships in the 200 meters, broke the New Paltz school and Hamilton track records in the event with a 25.89 finish to highlight the day.

In addition, Heather DeBuono (Fishkill, NY), Janet Walsh (Baldwinsville, NY), Kate Choromanski (Shelton, CT), Erika Johnson (Kingston, NY), and Jackie Goldstein (Port Jervis, NY) each set school records and qualified for the SUNYAC Championships. DeBuono qualified in the 400 (1:03.20), Walsh in the 3000 (12:29.50), Choromanski in the 800 (2:27.01), Johnson in the disc (27.80m) and Goldstein in the hammer (35.26m).

Marisa Ouranitas (Levittown, NY), already a SUNYAC 200 and 400 qualifier, qualified in the 100 meters with a time of 14.41 seconds.

Jolene Dobis (Saratoga, NY) and Kara Conner both qualified in the 100 meters, joining Heidi Dippel (Levvittown, NY). Dobis finished in 13.92 seconds while Conner crossed the line at 14.20 seconds.

Jen Hutchinson (Queensbury, NY) had a SUNYAC qualifying time of 1:08.50 with her third place finish in the 400 meter hurdles and Andrea Drayss (Island Park, NY) finished second in the shot put.

Andrew Hunsinger (Queensbury, NY) set school records in both the 100 and 200 meters to highlight the men’s day. He crossed the line in 11.32 seconds in the 100 and 22.54 seconds in the 200.

Bryan Lundy (Stormville, NY) also set a school record in the discus with a throw of 34.86 meters.

The Hawks will be hosting the 2003 SUNYAC Outdoor Championships on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Dietz Stadium in Kingston, NY.
