Plattsburgh Wins 4-2 Over New Paltz

PLATTSBURGH — Lisa Prian scored two second-half goals for Plattsburgh State to thwart a New Paltz comeback and lead the Cardinals to a 4-2 win.

The Cards led 2-0 at halftime on goals from Allison Nelson and Gena Rosenbaum. Winnie Lento pulled New Paltz to within one two minutes into the second half but Prian’s heroics put the game out of reach making it 4-1 fifteen minutes later. The Hawks inched closer at the 64:28 mark on Matty Schwartz’s penalty kick but could get no closer.

Ally Walker got the victory in goal for the Cardinals making one save and Maggie Fenton made four for the Hawks. Fenton had her shutout streak ended at four games in the loss. The sophomore had gone the last 445:23 without conceding a goal before Nelson’s first-half tally.
