SUNY New Paltz Honors Center to hold faculty lecture series
NEW PALTZ — The State University of New York at New Paltz Honors Center is proud to present its spring 2002 Faculty Lecture Series.
The first lecture will be on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. at the Honors Center. It will be given by Ilgu Ozler, political science professor, and it is titled “Squatters Stand Up: Political Institutions and Demand Making in Developing Nations.”
“The Faculty Lecture Series is designed to bring together SUNY New Paltz faculty members to discuss their current research before the campus community and the wider public,” said Jeff Miller, director of the Honors Program and assistant political science professor.
The series will also allow students to experience a more professional discourse than is generally seen in the classroom.
Upcoming lectures in the series will cover art history, philosophy, political science, psychology, science and sociology.
All lectures are free and open to the public. For further information on future speakers and lectures in this series, please refer to the SUNY New Paltz Web site calendar at www.newpaltz.edu/calendar.
