IPAWS system test planned for Wednesday, Oct. 4

The Federal Emergency Management Agency, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission, will conduct an Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) test on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 2:20 p.m.

This is a federal test and is not affiliated with any emergency alert systems on campus.

Members of the community can expect to receive a test message on their mobile device during this exercise.

The purpose of the IPAWS test is to ensure that the national Wireless Emergency Alerts and the Emergency Alert System (EAS) continue to be effective in sending emergency warnings to the public.
