Business Professor Davina Vora awarded for scholarship on building inclusivity through leadership
SUNY New Paltz School of Business Professor Davina Vora recently received the Insights Award from the Academy of International Business (AIB) at their 2023 Conference in Warsaw, Poland.
Vora was awarded for her article, “Creating inclusive spaces through multiculturalism and positive leadership,” which outlines a multi-level theoretical model she developed alongside Salma Raheem of the University of Liverpool, to explain how business leaders can benefit from incorporating equality, diversity, and inclusion practices such as embracing multiculturalism in workplace settings.
“We suggest that multiculturalism is positively related to inclusive positive leadership, but that factors at the individual, dyadic, team, organizational, and national levels may moderate this relationship,” said Vora.
The article is an example of Vora’s studies in cross-cultural management. As a professor in New Paltz’s International Business program, Vora is a dedicated scholar of organizational management practices in diversity as well as global leadership, having been featured in a variety of academic business journals and earning multiple honors both on- and off-campus for her scholarship.
