Our University, Our Future: Inauguration kicks off April 19 with celebrations of the power of public higher education
SUNY New Paltz has planned three days of on-campus festivities from April 19 through April 21 to commemorate the inauguration of Dr. Darrell P. Wheeler.
Before the Investiture Ceremony on April 20, the campus community is invited to attend an afternoon program in the Lecture Center on Wednesday, April 19, as we kick off Inauguration with a celebration of student success and the transformative power of public higher education.
The April 19 program includes a powerful student-faculty forum facilitated by President Wheeler (1 p.m. in Lecture Center 100), followed by a Festival of Big Ideas (2 p.m. in the Lecture Center lobbies), with more than 40 dynamic presentations from student organizations and student/faculty teams about their work (and don’t forget to have your photo taken with Hugo at the photo booth)!
Student-Faculty Collaborative Forum and Festival on April 19 in Lecture Center
The theme on Wednesday, April 19, is “Celebrating the Transformative Power of Public Higher Education.” At 1 p.m. in Lecture Center 100, there will be a collaborative forum focusing on student-faculty collaboration, research and creative activity, which will be followed by a festival at 2 p.m. highlighting research presentations and student organization activity. Both events on April 19 will be open to walk-ins as space allows.
For those who are unable to attend in person, the April 19, 1 p.m. forum on the power of public higher education will be livestreamed. Please use this link to access the livestream when it begins.
