Retention Coordinator Chelsea Reid to speak at student success conference

Chelsea Reid, retention coordinator and New Paltz’s Starfish functional lead in the Center for Student Success, has been invited to co-present at a strategy session during EAB‘s Student Success Conference, Connected22, in Orlando, Florida on Nov. 7.

There will be a pre-conference session for Starfish, New Paltz’s student success which Reid manages as part of her responsibilities. It serves as an early-alert and communication platform that connects students with faculty, staff, and campus resources that they need to be successful at SUNY New Paltz.

EAB leadership has “identified New Paltz as one of two campuses who have done exemplary work with data analysis and identifying impact for their campus.”

CSS Executive Director Dante Cantu was also recognized by EAB, formerly known as Education Advisory Board, this year for spearheading New Paltz’s college-wide student success efforts. He received an invitation for membership on its Student Success Innovation Council through the 2022-2023 academic year.

CONNECTED is the industry’s largest and most transformative student success conference. For the last eight years, EAB has convened leaders across the spectrum of higher education—community colleges, R-1 institutions, publics, privates, small colleges, and large universities—to experience new research from experts, case studies from peers, innovative ideas from special guests, and more.
