Reminders for working with Design & Print Services
The Design & Print Services staff in the Office of Communication & Marketing is here to help with your design and print needs.
We continue to support SUNY’s efforts in the year ahead to reduce overall print and paper volume. We are doing more digital work to fulfill your design needs for signage, eblasts, digital flyers, brochures, booklets and more, and ask that you continue conveying your communication digitally when possible. For institutional and other priority projects that need print materials, the Printshop will continue to offer guidance and support.
You can place a request for design and print services by logging into my.newpaltz.edu and submitting a ticket via Team Dynamix. Please remember to include an account number to be charged for all print/design requests.
SUNY’s Print Policy and Campus Actions
SUNY’s print policy calls for the elimination of all local (not-networked) devices and stand-alone fax machines. This means that the College will not approve purchases for this kind of new individual equipment moving forward.
Our in-house central print services are more cost effective than either off-campus printing, using your remaining desktop printer/copier or printing while working remotely. Our high-speed digital equipment has a very low rate per click because of our volume, and our bindery provides all the finishing operations needed to complete any job.

Design Requests
All design projects should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the date that the project is needed. We’ll provide you with a first proof for review as soon as possible depending on the Design Services work queue and where your job falls within the queue (see “Design Turnaround Times” below).
When submitting a project, you must include all final copy and images. Without final copy and images, Design Services cannot provide you with a first draft of your project, which will delay production.
Design Turnaround Times (does not include print time)
The turnaround times listed below for completion of designs are with the expectation that all images and final copy are supplied with the submission of the work request.
As noted above, these items can be produced as digital flyers, brochures and eblasts in lieu of print pieces. We encourage departments, offices and other areas to continue to request designs in this medium.
Design turnaround times are as follows:
Signage: 2-3 days (depending on number and size of signs)
Eblasts: 2-3 days
Digital flyers: 2-3 days
Digital brochures: 1 Week

Printing Turnaround Times
The design turnaround times listed above do NOT include printing time for print pieces, so please make sure that when you submit your print project you take into consideration the time it will take to print after it is designed.
The Printshop, located in the basement of Haggerty Administration Building, has numerous jobs in their print queue at any given time, which may affect the timing of your project and the turnaround times listed below. Note that reprints or camera-ready orders do not apply to those times. Please keep in mind that the busiest times of the year for the Printshop are the week leading up to the beginning of each new semester, the first few weeks of each semester, the last few weeks of each semester, and the weeks leading up to Commencement.
Printing Turnaround Times (these are estimates and subject to change depending on the workload of the printshop):
Business Cards: 1 week
