Become a better listener with this June 2022 Human Resources training
The Office of Human Resources, Diversity & Inclusion is offering a new training, “Honing Your Listening Skills,” for faculty and staff on Tuesday, June 28 at 10 a.m.
Please use this link to register. The workshop will be held in person in Student Union room 416.
Description: In conversation, do you take the time not only to hear what is being said, but also to listen and understand? Or do you let the words go in one ear and out the other while focusing on how you will respond?
Awareness of your listening habits can help you to avoid miscommunication and frustration by actively seeking to understand the message and viewpoint of the other half of the conversation. In this training, we’ll explore the types of listening and when they’re appropriate; the challenges to good listening; and tips for being a better listener.
