Nominate a colleague for a 2022-23 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence
The SUNY New Paltz Scholarships and Awards Committee invites nominations for SUNY Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence for both full-time faculty and professional staff, and adjunct faculty.
The Chancellor’s Awards are system-level honors conferred to acknowledge and provide system-wide recognition for consistently superior professional achievement and to encourage the ongoing pursuit of excellence.
Nomination details: Chancellor’s Awards for full-time faculty and professional staff
Full-time faculty and professional staff can be nominated for Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence in Faculty Service, Librarianship, Professional Service, Scholarship & Creative Activities, and Teaching.
Complete nomination dossiers for these five award categories should be submitted to chancellors@newpaltz.edu by Oct. 15, 2022, for review by the Scholarships and Awards Committee.

The SUNY policies and procedures for 2020-22 are attached to this message, for your reference. The SUNY 2022-23 policies and procedures have not yet been published and should be available by late July. Campus-level guidelines are also attached.

Please note that the nominating letters required for these full-time faculty and staff Chancellor’s Award nomination dossiers must be signed by all nominators, the department chair, and the dean.

Nomination details: Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching
An additional Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching is given annually to eligible faculty members.
Complete nomination dossiers for the Award in Adjunct Teaching should be submitted to chancellors@newpaltz.edu by Sept. 15, 2022, for review by the Scholarships and Awards Committee.

To be eligible for nomination for an Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching:
Nominees must be Adjunct Faculty as generally defined by the specific SUNY institution. Individuals serving in full-time professional or academic positions at a SUNY institution are not eligible for this award.
Nominees must have taught, over the proceeding five years, a total of courses equivalent to one-half of a three-year full-time teaching load in the appropriate department.
Nominees may also serve in adjunct roles at other educational institutions.
Nominees must be employed by the nominating campus at the time of the nomination.
