SUNY New Paltz’s indoor masking requirement will remain in place at the start of the spring 2022 semester, with masks required for all students, employees, campus guests and visitors whenever they are inside campus buildings.
There are limited exceptions including when employees are alone in private, closed offices and other similar spaces, and when students who live on campus are in their rooms or suites.
With evidence of increased transmissibility with Omicron, we encourage our community to use a three-layer mask where possible. Please do not use bandanas because they do not close below the chin, and do not use face shields by themselves. Face shields with a mask are acceptable.
