Reminders about final exam accommodations with the Disability Resource Center

The Disability Resource Center (DRC) works each semester to coordinate exam accommodations for New Paltz students who request them.

For fall 2021, the DRC has asked students to submit final exam requests by Friday, Nov. 19. Please keep in mind that the DRC may not be able to accommodate students if their requests are not received by this deadline.

Have questions about this process? The Disability Resource Center is available to help. Call at 845-257-3020, email at, or stop by at Haggerty Administration Building, Room 205.

For students: How to place an exam accommodation request

The best way to place these requests is through your my.newpaltz account.

Log into
Select Disability Resource Center from the Resources menu
Click Testing Room
Click New Booking Request
Select the course you are taking
Click Final Exam and select the date and time you would like to take the exam
Fill in your identifying information and click Submit Request

You will receive an email when your request is submitted, and a confirmation when it is approved.

Please note that when taking final exams with the Disability Resource Center, the available start times are 8 a.m., 10: 15 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. Please arrive 10 minutes before your exam is scheduled to begin.

For Faculty: How to upload your exams to our accommodation tool

Faculty can expedite this process by uploading their exams to the Accommodate app. They can do so by following these steps:

Log into
Select Disability Resource Center from the Resources menu
Select the relevant course
Click Exam, then Add New Exam

Please upload your exam at least one day prior to the date of administration to allow time to print and prepare the exam for your student(s).

Doing this will cover any future requests or students who miss the deadline to submit the exam online. Faculty can also specify the time frame during which the Disability Resource Center is authorized to administer your exam.
