Telecommuting program will be extended on our campus until Dec. 31
The current Telecommuting Pilot Program for state employees, first announced by the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations in March and extended in June, is due to expire on Oct. 2.
While we await word on whether this will be formally extended, the College will exercise its discretion to continue our current practices until Dec. 31. Unless a formal extension is announced, the College will review continuation beyond Dec. 31 and update the campus accordingly.
The College recognizes that many in our community are still adjusting to professional and personal obligations around the new normal. Employees are navigating changes in K-12, the care of elders, and staggered work schedules to reduce campus density. There is no intention to cause further stress or disruption by asking employees to pivot at this time.
The extension of this telecommuting program applies to employees represented by CSEA, UUP, DC 37 and PEF, as well as M/C employees.
We ask supervisors to support continued flexibility for remote work and staggered staffing for campus presence.
If there are any questions or concerns about updating telecommuting plans, please write to HRDI@newplatz.edu and a member of the HRDI team will be glad to help.
