Two updates from the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations: Salary increases delayed, and date to use Voluntary Reduction in Work Schedule credits extended

The Office of Human Resources, Diversity & Inclusion shares two news updates from the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations (GOER).

Across the Board increases delayed

Unions have been notified by GOER and SUNY that contractual, across-the-board raises will be deferred until at least Jan. 1, 2021, for all bargaining units, subject to further review at that time. Current salary schedules remain in place for all bargaining units.

Use of Voluntary Reduction in Work Schedule credits – date extended

GOER has notified us that, under their discretion, they will extend the date by which Voluntary Reduction in Work Schedule (VRWS) credits earned during fiscal year 2019-2020 must be liquidated from Sept. 30, 2020 to March 31, 2021. All other guidelines for VRWS remain the same for all bargaining units.

Please note that this extension does not apply to credits earned on or after April 1, 2020.

If you have any questions on the use of VRWS credits please contact the Payroll office (payroll@newpaltz.edu) or visit this link for more information.
