Uncubed Virtual Career Fair

April 29 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Uncubed is an NYC-based software firm that connected innovative tech and start-up companies with talented young professionals.

New Paltz students who participate in this virtual event will have access to networking sessions, workshops and a reception area to mix and mingle with like-minded students and employers. Each hiring company will have their own virtual space where they can share information about their company and open positions, and when you match with an opportunity you’ll be able to automatically connect on LinkedIn.

This event is open to all majors, but advance registration is required. As part of the registration process, students can submit a resume for prospective employers to review.

New York State Police Information Session with Trooper Robert Saracelli

April 29 at 12:30 p.m.

New York State is hiring of police officers! Join Trooper Saracelli to learn more about the many opportunities, the amazing benefits, and how to register for the fall 2020 exam.

Grad School 101 Workshop

Wednesday, April 29 at 5 p.m.

If you are planning to attend or considering graduate school, this is a great opportunity to hear from Career Resource Center staff about the application process and what you should be doing now to prepare.

This session will cover the application timeline, entrance exams, reference tips, personal statements, resources for program search and more. Representatives from SUNY New Paltz’s Office of Graduate Studies & Extended Learning will be on hand to speak about advanced programs right here on our campus.

Addressing Microaggressions in the Workplace

April 30 at 2 p.m.

The Career Resource Center and the Psychological Counseling Center jointly host this session discussing what microaggressions are and how they can be particularly impactful for the LGBTQ+ community in the workplace. Additionally, we will provide strategies to identify, cope with, and respond to microaggressions.

Student to Professional Workshops

April 30 at 5 p.m.

Are you graduating this May, August or December 2020? Now that you have mastered being a student, you may feel that you need some support as you transition from student to professional.

The Career Resource Center and Psychological Counseling Center are partnering to bring you an interactive workshop to learn job search techniques and tools, as well stress management skills. You will leave with next steps and resources to support you during this time of transition from college to career.

Apply by May 1 for the Campus Auxiliary Services Internship Stipend for summer 2020

Students can receive up to $2,000 assistance in the fall and spring and up to $3,000 in the summer. Funds can be used for transportation, professional attire, housing and other related costs.

Applicant Requirements: 

  • Full-time undergraduate student seeking academic credit for an internship/fieldwork/practicum/student teaching experience (must have completed 61 or more credits)
  • Has selected an internship which is non-paid or offers a low wage
  • Has a 2.5 or higher GPA
  • Demonstrates financial need
