Free, open sessions at School of Business to offer advising for MBA prospects
The SUNY New Paltz School of Business will offer free information sessions providing an overview of the master of business administration degree (MBA) program.
Fall 2016 MBA information sessions will be held on Oct. 4, Nov. 9 and Dec. 6, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., in van den Berg Hall room 310.
Like the MBA program itself, the info sessions have been designed for current undergraduate students, at New Paltz and at other institutions, as well as working professionals interested in developing new aptitudes.
“These sessions are really meant for anyone who’s curious about earning an MBA,” said Aaron Hines, director of the MBA program for the School of Business. “They’ll be able to get everything from a full curriculum breakdown of the MBA, to info on the admission requirements, application process and scholarship opportunities.”
The MBA program offers flexibility for students to complete the program as best suits them. A one-year accelerated program is available for full-time students motivated to complete the program rapidly; for students with busy schedules, the MBA program can be completed with about 75% percent of required courses taken either online or on weekends.
“Our MBA program is designed to offer a high quality academic experience and scheduling flexibility to meet the demands of both full time and part time students,” said Kristin Backhaus, dean of the School of Business. “No matter the format, our faculty provide courses that are engaging and up-to-date in terms of the changing business environment.”
As the New Paltz MBA program has grown, so too has its reputation among its regional and national peers. In 2013, the School of Business earned accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, which has been conferred upon fewer than five percent of the world’s business programs and is a clear signal of excellence in business education.
“Students see the AACSB seal on our program, and they see how many quality alumni we have, who have gotten good jobs and good placements after finishing our program,” Hines said.
