School of Business honors students, faculty, and staff at awards ceremony

The School of Business recently held its annual awards ceremony recognizing students, faculty, and staff for their achievements. A handful of students were also inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society—the highest recognition a student can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International.

Academic Awards were presented to graduating students who have an overall GPA of 3.8 or higher. Honorees included: Kaitlin R. Camporese ’14, Sameer M. Dawood ’14, Rachel L. Fischetti ’14, Yasin Gonenc ’14, Catherine Good ’14, Syed F. Husain ‘14g, Cody Jackson ‘14g, Erik H. Jonisz ‘14g, Emily M. Magnus ’14, Ryan P. McCloskey ’14, Kaoru Odashima ’14, Alexa S. Walz ’14, Tyler M. West ’14, Wen Xu ‘14g, and Shushu Yang ’14.

The Outstanding Service award is presented to graduating students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and/or otherwise contributed significantly to the school and/or college. These awards were presented to: Michael Frey ’14, Jorge Gonzalez ’14, Chris Pulliam ’14, and Elizabeth Sydney ’14.

The Faculty & Staff Awards were presented to: Dr. Paul Girma, Distinguished Service Award; Dr. Napatsorn Jiraporn, Distinguished Teaching Award; Dr. Narcyz Roztocki, Distinguished Research Award; and Toni Rizzo, Business Staff Service Award.

The following students were inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society: Thomas C. Cassa ‘14g, Yasin Gonenc ’14, Syed F. Husain ‘14g, Erik H. Jonisz ‘14g, Deborah A. Lohman ’14, Kaoru Odashima ’14, Kelly A. Pry ’14, Ryuichi Takioka ’14, Wen Xu ‘14g and Li Zhang ’14. In order to be nominated for membership in the Honor Society, students of junior or senior standing must be in the top 10% of their class and have a weighted GPA of 3.64 or higher, and gradute students must be in the top 20% of their class and have a GPA of 3.8 or higher.
