New Paltz President supports Chancellor Zimpher’s State of the University address

NEW PALTZ – State University of New York Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher delivered her 2012 State of the University Address on Monday, unveiling plans to "get down to business" following a year of milestones and accomplishments. The Chancellor vowed to capitalize on SUNY’s "systemness" in order to lower costs, enhance productivity, and elevate the importance of degree completion within the country’s largest comprehensive system of public higher education.

SUNY New Paltz President Donald P. Christian supports Zimpher’s address stating, "Chancellor Zimpher’s plans and vision for the SUNY System and each of its campuses align well with what we have undertaken at New Paltz to control costs, increase productivity, and support students in completing their degree and education.

We believe that our diversity and high graduation rate support the Chancellor’s goals and will position New Paltz well to compete for future funding and allocations."
