School to host Tax Practitioner Institute

NEW PALTZ – The State University of New York at New Paltz School of Business is pleased to host a 2011 Summer Tax Practitioner Institute on Friday, June 24 from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the in van den Berg Hall room 310 (the School of Business conference room) on campus. Registration and breakfast will be from 8 – 8:30 a.m.

Those who attend will earn four CPE credits on compliance and one CPE credit for Ethics. Representatives from the IRS and NYS Department of Taxation & Finance will present the following topics: updates from the Office of Professional Responsibility; 2011 e-file and e-services updates; overview of the new FBAR regulations; tax return preparer regulation updates on IRS competency exam; continuing professional education and electronic filing requirements; and employers retirement plan updates. There will be opportunities for questions and answers.

There is a $50 fee, which includes breakfast, to attend. The agenda and registration are online.
