School of Business announces the 2011 Hall of Fame inductees

NEW PALTZ – The School of Business at the State University of New York at New Paltz is pleased to announce the 2011 Hall of Fame inductees. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on May 12, 2011 at the Wiltwyck Country Club in Kingston, NY from 5:00 – 7:30pm.

The inductees will be: The Solar Energy Consortium as Business Person of the Year; The Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation for the Dean’s Award of Excellence; Harold King as Alumnus of the Year; and Armelle Kessler as Student Leader of the Year.

The Solar Energy Consortium (TSEC) is a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to foster the growth of NYS a global Hub for transformative solar research and innovation, application development, and manufacturing. Since its formation in 2007, TSEC has assisted solar manufacturers settle in to the Hudson Valley, creating hundreds of jobs. Furthermore, TSEC works closely with New Paltz, in particular the School of Business, to further advance solar business development and technology.

The Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation was created in 2003. While funded through Ulster Savings Bank, the Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation is operated separately based on a mission to assist the community in the areas of education, housing and human services. Their ongoing support and social entrepreneurship has been invaluable to this region for the last 10 years.

Harold King is the Executive Vice President of the Council of Industry of Southeastern New York, an association of 145 Hudson Valley manufacturing firms. Founded in 1910, it is the mission of the Council of Industry to promote the success of its members, and through them, contribute to the Hudson Valley community. He is a member of the School’s Business Advisory Council and received an MBA from New Paltz.

Armelle Kessler is a Management major and plans to graduate in May 2011. She is the president of the Management Association and the Dean’s Student Advisory Board. She has played a significant role in leading, promoting and coordinating activities for both organizations, such as the Entrepreneurship series and the student debates. She also works in the School of Business and the Theater Box Office on campus and interned at the Williamstown Theater Festival. In addition, she is a member of the New Paltz Dance Team.
