Volleyball Wins Skidmore Tournament
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY- The SUNY New Paltz women’s volleyball team finished up their regular season schedule winning the Skidmore Tournament. The Hawks defeated Union in straight sets and defeated Skidmore in four. The Hawks take a 20 game winning streak into the SUNYAC Tournament on Friday.
In the Union game, the Hawks won by the scores of 25-17, 25-18, 26-24. Stephanie Bova help lead the attack with 37 assists. Tournament MVP Alison Kiernan had 11 kills and Stephanie Skrobach added 11. Brittany Coyle led the team with 13 kills and four blocks. Loren Crabbe led the defense with 14 digs.
In the Skidmore game, Bova had a game-high 52 assists as Melinda DiGiovanna led the Hawks with 14 kills and Kiernan and Coyle each added 13 kills a piece. Crabbe once again led the Hawks with 26 digs.
The Hawks improve to 30-5 on season and return to the court on Friday against the winner of Brockport and Oneonta match.
