Plattsburgh Defeats Hawks in Women’s Soccer
PLATTSBURGH, NY- The SUNY New Paltz women’s soccer team fell to Plattsburgh 1-0 Saturday afternoon at the Fieldhouse Complex on the campus of Plattsburgh.
Ashley McKenelley received the pass from Emily Riley from the right side of the box for the header in the 39th minute for the 1-0 advantage. Plattsburgh held a 10-1 shot advantage in the first half.
Lianna Foley earned her first win of the season in goal for the Cardinals. Plattsburgh improves to 8-3-2 overall and 3-2-2 in the SUNYAC.
Katie Oliver and Rebecca Devlin each recorded a shot for the Hawks.
Stephanie Vega saved five shots on the afternoon as the Hawks fall to 4-7-3 overall and 1-5-1 in the SUNYAC. New Paltz returns to the field Thursday against Drew at 7:00 p.m. on the campus of Drew.
