#21 Vassar Defeats Hawks 8-1 in Women’s Tennis

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY- The SUNY New Paltz women’s tennis team ended the regular season with an 8-1 loss to #21 Vassar College. 

Kayla DiPaulo had the lone win for the Hawks in the fourth single match.

1st singles: Nicole Pontee (V) def. Stephanie Schara (NP), 6-1, 6-0

2nd singles: Jennifer Beckerman (V) def. Montana Wilson (NP), 6-3, 6-3

3rd singles: Joy Backer (V) def. Lindsey Garyn (NP), 6-1, 6-1

4th singles: Kayla DiPaulo (NP) def. Elizabeth Anderson (V), 6-7(5), 6-0, (7-10)

5th singles: Jennifer Ruther (V) def. Ingrid Maryansky (NP), 6-1, 6-1

6th singles: Natalie Santiago (V) def. Alexandria Esposito (NP), 6-1, 6-3

1st doubles: Pontee/Backer (V) def. Schara/Garyn (NP), 8-0

2nd doubles: Beckerman/Nicole Block (V) def. Wilson/DiPaulo (NP), 8-1

3rd doubles: Santiago/Carolina Dunn-Rankin (V) def. Lyndsey Lovinger/Kerri Serkes (NP), 8-3

Vassar improves to 2-1 on the season.

The Hawks end the regular season at 9-2 overall and 6-1 in the SUNYAC.  New Paltz is back in action this weekend in the SUNYAC Championships in Manlius, New York.
