Tennis defeats RPI, 6-3

TROY, NY – The SUNY New Paltz women’s tennis team won two of three doubles matches and captured four of six singles flights en route to a 6-3 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) on Saturday at Sharp Courts.

2. Montana Wilson (NP) def. Jessica Sitzer (RPI): 6-2, 6-1

3. Lindsey Garyn (NP) def. Brianna Dickie (RPI): 6-3, 6-1

4. Zosia Casterline (RPI) def. Kayla DiPaulo (NP): 6-4, 4-6, 11-9

5. Ingrid Maryansky (NP) def. Hetal Baman (RPI): 6-0, 6-0

6. Alexandra Armstrong (RPI) def. Alli Esposito (NP): 6-3, 6-2

Doubles:

1. Roe/Sitzer (RPI) def. Schara/Garyn (NP): 8-3

2. Wilson/DiPaulo (NP) def. Caroline Albrecht/Dickie (RPI): 8-0

3. Lyndsey Lovinger/Kerri Serkes (NP) def. Kimberly Viles/Baman (RPI): 8-6

RPI falls to 3-2 overall. The Hawks improve to 7-1 overall and return to the court next weekend in the ITA William Smith Invitational.
