Stross Named 2009 MVP

First year middle hitter Kevin Stross (Port Washington/Schreiber) was named the 2009 most valuable player. He helped guide the team to a 22-13 record, improving their win total by 11 matches from the previous season. Stross was the NECVA Metro-Division Rookie of the Year after earning metro rookie of the week status three times and NECVA rookie of the week twice. He amassed 378 kills on 768 attempts and 100 errors for a .362 hitting percentage, ranking him 14th in Division III. Stross registered 105 blocks, 41 service aces and 61 digs in his rookie campaign.
