Lacrosse drops season opener to Mt. St. Vincent and Morrisville State

FLORIDA-  The SUNY New Paltz women’s lacrosse team opened the season with a loss to Mt. St. Vincent and Morrisville State. 

Tuesday night the Hawks fell to Mt. St. Vincent by the score of 16-7.  Freshman Sam Delgaudio (Northport, NY/Northport) led the Hawks with four goals and sophomore Brittany Bennett (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West) had a hat-trick for the Hawks.

Senior goalkeeper Lorraine Vultaggio (Babylon, NY/Miller Place) recorded the loss in net saving 15 shots.

Wednesday afternoon, the Hawks fell to Morrisville State in a non-conference game 10-7.

Freshman Kim Hall (Cortland, NY/Cortland) led the Hawks with a hat-trick and one assist and Delgaudio tallied two goals in the loss.

Vultaggio made 13 saves in net and the Hawks fall to 0-2 on the season.  They return to the field Friday against Polytechnic at 6 p.m.
