Freshman middle hitter Kevin Stross (Port Washington/Schreiber) was named to the Nazareth All-Tournament team as he guided the Hawks to a 2-2 record.
Stross tallied 44 kills on 93 attempts with only nine errors to produce a .376 hitting percentage in 15 sets played. He landed 12 blocked, one service ace and three digs to help New Paltz improve to 10-6 on the season.
Stross registered seven kills against #8 Nazareth and hit .778 after putting away seven kills on nine attempts with zero errors in the loss to #2 UCSC. He led the Hawks with a .425 percentage on 20 kills in a 3-2 win over #4 Stevens for the first time in 12 matches since 2002 and finished the weekend with 10 kills against #14 Medialle.
