SUNY Purchase won the first annual SUNY New Paltz tip-off tournament with a convincing 81-68 decision over Hartwick. Purchase advanced to the championship game with a 81-78 win over New Paltz on Friday.
Marvin Billups of Purchase was named the tournament MVP. Teammate Jerell Lewis joined Billups on the all-tournament team. Other members included Joe Coccoziello (Hartwick), Ryan Exum (York) and Jayquan Anderson (New Paltz).
