The women’s volleyball team went 1-1 on the second of SUNYAC Pool Play.
The Hawks defeated Oneonta this morning 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-21). Junior Brittany Coyle led the attack with 13 kills and Stephanie Bova handed out 21 assists. Melinda DiGiovanna added 11 digs and Dana Kindelmann tallied three blocks.
In the afternoon, New Paltz fell to Cortland 3-1 (17-25, 25-10, 19-25, 22-25). Colye led with 15 kills and Samantha Prudente added 10 kills. Bova handed out 41 assists and Nicole Mercadante collected 14 digs. Kindelmann totaled three blocks as the Hawks finish pool play and win the SUNYAC East Division title.
New Paltz advances to 21-6 and 7-1 in conference play and will return to action on Wednesday October 22nd when they host Eastern Connecticut at 7pm. We will be honoring seniors Samantha Prudente and Nicole Mercadante before the game.
