Overtime goal gives Morrisville State victory over SUNY New Paltz in field hockey
MORRISVILLE, NY- The SUNY New Paltz field hockey team lost to host Morrisville State College Saturday afternoon 3-2 in OT.
The Hawks struck first when Sarah Schloss (Brant Lake, NY/North Warren) passed to Kristen Bergmann (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa) who found Jessie Moore (Walden, NY/Pine Bush) for the goal.
Morrisville answered back, scoring the next two goals to give Morrisville the 2-1 advantage. Lauren Bordonaro scored the first game for Morrisville off a pass from Jennifer Caffarelli. The second goal, Bordonaro found Brandy Tebo for the goal.
The Hawks Moore tied the contest 2-2 when Bergmann found Moore on the right side of the cage for the goal.
Morrisville’s Caffarelli scored the game winner off a pass from Tebo for the 3-2 victory.
Grace Watson (Bayville, NY/Locust Valley) allowed two goals and made one save in 39:44 minutes. Elizabeth Dini (Sayville, NY/Sayville) tallied one save and the loss in net allowing the overtime goal. SUNY New Paltz falls to 1-8 overall and 0-5 in SUNYAC competition.
Sarah Snow tallied four saves in net for the win for Morrisville. Morrisville improves to 4-7 overall and 2-1 in SUNYAC competition.
SUNY New Paltz returns to the field Wednesday October 8 at 4 p.m. at Manhattanville College.
