NEW PALTZ – The State University of New York at New Paltz will welcome James Orr, assistant vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, for a talk at
7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, in Lecture Center 102. The event is free and open to the public.
“The Outlook for the New York Economy” is the subject of his discussion.
At the Federal Reserve of New York, Orr specializes in regional economics and his responsibilities include analyzing and forecasting economic trends in the New York-New Jersey region. Orr recently co-authored two studies on the impact of the World Trade Center attack on the New York City economy and an article on indexes of coincident economic indicators for the region. His experience includes serving an assignment to the New York City Office of the Deputy Mayor where he authored a report on foreign investment in the city.
The event is sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Office of the Academic Affairs, Provost’s Office, Department of Economics, Economics Club, Omicron Delta Epsilon (an international Economics honor society) and the Center for Research, Regional Education and Outreach (CRREO).
