Women’s Tennis Downs Cortland 7-2

The women’s tennis team hosted Cortland this afternoon and defeated the Red Dragons 7-2.

The Hawks swept the doubles competition as senior Dana Lim and sophomore Stephanie Schara opened the match with an 8-3 win at first doubles. The second doubles team of junior Lyndsey Lovinger and first year Ingrid Maryanski won 8-3 and the third doubles team of junior Kerri Serkes and first year Calder Mills-Lexvold won by a score of 8-5.

In singles action, New Paltz took four of the six singles matches. Lim won at #1, 6-0, 6-1 while Schara won at #2 7-5, 6-3. Maryanski won fourth singles, 6-2, 6-0 and Serkes took fifth singles 6-1, 6-2.

New Paltz returns to action next week when they travel to Geneseo on Friday September 12th at 3:30pm
