Women’s Soccer Drops 1-0 in OT to Buffalo State

BUFFALO, NY— The SUNY New Paltz women’s soccer team concluded regulation play knotted in a scoreless tie against Buffalo State before falling 1-0 in overtime on an own goal.

The teams traded nine shots apiece through the first 90 minutes, before an own goal ended the game just 2:51 into overtime.  Buffalo State sent a long through ball into the box that a New Paltz defender inadvertently redirected past New Paltz goalkeeper Sarah Boccard (Washingtonville) who was breaking the opposite direction.

Boccard finished with five saves in net and Elana Jaroff (Old Westbury/Wheatley) registered four shots.

The Hawks will return home to host Geneseo on Friday October 3, at 4pm.
