The men’s and women’s cross country teams traveled to Brockport today for the Brockport Invitational to compete against several of the top ranked teams in the Atlantic Region.
The men’s team finished seventh in the 5K meet as sophomore Joe Gentsch claimed New Paltz’s top spot with a 19th place time of 16:52. First year Geoff Hurley was 35th in 17:13, junior Nick Avello ran 50th in 17:37, first year Mike Zelensky crossed in 18:19 and Dexter Larsen completed the scoring five in 18:26.
The women’s team finished fifth and was paced by junior Lisa Cassaro with a 16th place finish in 20:48. Sophomore Danielle Harmon was 30th in 21:28, Stephanie Albinski was 36th in 21:41, Olga Stulov was 41st in 21:57 and first year Kristina Rolla was 52nd in 22:30 to complete the scoring five for New Paltz.
The Hawks will run at Williams on Saturday, September 27th.
