Softball Eliminated from SUNYACs
PLATTSBURGH, NY — The softball team was eliminated from the SUNYAC tournament this afternoon in a 7-1 loss to Buffalo State.
Buffalo State took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning on four hits and three errors. Sophomore Elizabeth May hit a homerun to left field to cut the deficit to 3-1 in the bottom of the inning for the Hawks lone run of the game. New Paltz totaled seven hits on the game, all coming from different players, while the Bengals registered 12 hits. Buffalo State added a run in the third, fourth and two in the sixth for the 7-1 final. Courtney Costello took the loss on the mound, allowing seven hits, five runs, one walk and one strikeout in three innings.
New Paltz completes their season at 25-18.
