NEW PALTZ, NY — Senior Lauren Motzkin has been named a 2008 Third Team All-American. She is the first All-American in the history of the softball program at SUNY New Paltz. Motzkin is one of 45 Division III players to earn 2008 All-American honors across the nation.
Motzkin was put forth to the All-American ballot after being named to the Northeast All-Region first team at the utility position. She started all 43 games of the season behind the plate or in the outfield and led the team in hits (58), doubles (15), and stolen bases (13-13). Motzkin hit .397 on the season and posted a .992 fielding percentage.
