Four Players in Double Figures Not Enough
UTICA, NY — The men’s basketball team traveled to Utica, NY today to take on SUNYIT and fell to the Wildcats 69-57. The Hawks slip to 6-10 on the season and 2-7 in the conference.
SUNYIT led 27-19 at 4:50 before New Paltz went on an 11-2 run to close the half up 30-29. In the second half, the Wildcats held a slim 52-51 lead with 5:35 remaining before outscoring the Hawks 17-6 for the final score.
New Paltz had four players in double figures and were led by Adesoji James with a career high 12 points on 5-10 from the field. Kyle Nelson finished with 12 points and eight rebounds. Junior Matt Hauser scored 11 points and sophomore Lee Bertram posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.
The Hawks return to action on Tuesday January 29th against Brooklyn at 7:00 pm.
