Field Hockey Falls to Manhattanville
NEW PALTZ, NY — The field hockey team hosted Manhattanville this afternoon and fell to the Valiants, 1-0. Manhattanville broke a scoreless tie at 46:54 on a shot by Darby Webber assisted by Kirstin Betsill. The two teams played a scoreless first half, with New Paltz holding a 10-7 shot advantage, including a missed stroke opportunity in 31st minute. In the second half, Manhattanville outshot New Paltz 6-5.
Sophomore Jess Malone took the loss in net for the Hawks, posting seven saves as New Paltz falls to 4-8 on the season. The Hawks travels to Cortland on Saturday for their final SUNYAC contest at 12:30.
