Women’s Soccer Ties Brockport 2-2 (2OT)

BROCKPORT, NY — The women’s soccer team tied Brockport this afternoon 2-2 in come-from-behind fashion. Brockport led 1-0 at the half when Jessica VanAllen scored on a crossing pass from Jill Neidlinger in the 32nd minute. New Paltz got the equalizer at 68:05 when Stephanie Wallman (Smithtown) netted her first goal of the season on a long shot over the head of Brockport keeper Steph Kowell. The Golden Eagles regained the lead at 72:51 when Michelle Gibaud fired a shot past keeper Sarah Boccard (Washingtonville). Junior Jennifer Anselmi (North Rockland) evened the game at 83:02, for her first mark of the year. First year Emily Buckner (Pine Bush) took the corner kick for New Paltz and Kate Addiss (Amherst) headed the ball out to Anselmi at the top of the key for the game- tying goal. New Paltz got nine saves from Boccard and advances to 4-4-3 overall and 2-1-2 in SUNYAC. The Hawks will return to action next weekend when they travel to Plattsburgh on Friday and Potsdam on Saturday.
