Field Hockey Defeats Morrisville

NEW PALTZ, NY — The women’s field hockey team hosted Morrisville today and evened their SUNYAC record at 2-2 on the season with a 3-2 victory. New Paltz sophomore Kristen Bergmann (Massapequa) scored the only goal of the first half at 13:27 unassisted. First year Jess Moore (Walden/Pine Bush) scored her fifth goal of the season at 36:43 with the assist from classmate Lauren Nicomini (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Regional). Junior transfer Caitlin Ryder (Hopewell Junction/John Jay) tallied her first goal of the season on a pass from Moore at the 53:20 mark. Morrisville broke up the shutout with a pair of goals at 61:51 and 67:42. First year Elizabeth Dini (Sayville) made two saves to post the win as the Hawks up their record to 3-7. New Paltz will travel to Oswego on Saturday October 6th at 1:00pm.
