NEW PALTZ, NY — SUNY New Paltz senior Katie Becofsky (Altamont, NY/Schalmont) has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending September 2 after leading the Hawks to a 2-2 weekend at the SUNY Cortland Red Dragon Invitational Tournament where she was an All-Tournament Team selection.
The setter had a solid all-around weekend with 21 kills, 142 assists, 65 digs and four blocks as New Paltz defeated Montclair State and Rochester before dropping decisions to Stevens Institute and SUNY Cortland. In the 3-1 Cortland loss, Becofsky recorded her first career triple-double with 10 kills, 41 assists and 24 digs.
