NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s volleyball team hosted Mount Saint Vincent tonight and defeated the Dolphins 3-0 (30-25, 30-22, 30-27). Seniors Joshua Spiro and Jeff Lee paced the attack in their final regular season home contest, registering 12 kills each. Spiro finished with 10 block assits and Lee collected eight digs. Ryan Huberty tallied five kills and junior Pedro Medina recorded 10 digs. Sophomore setter Matt Weingarten handed out 25 assists.
The Hawks advance to 21-7 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to East Stroudsburg for their final regular season match.
New Paltz is seeded sixth in the NECVA tournament and will face No. 11, Hunter, on Friday March 30 at 8 p.m in the first round. The tournament will be hosted by Nazareth College, located in Rochester, NY.
