Hawks Fall to Sixth Ranked Stevens, 3-2

HOBOKEN, NJ — The SUNY New Paltz men’s volleyball team traveled to Hoboken, NJ tonight to face the sixth ranked Stevens Institute of Technology. The Hawks fell in five games (21-30, 30-21, 32-30, 24-30, 11-15). With the loss New Paltz falls to 9-4 overall and 4-2 in the league.
Freshman middle hitter Christopher Holden (Stony Brook, N.Y.) paced New Paltz with a team-leading 13 kills and seven blocks. Junior libero Pedro Medina (Brentwood, N.Y.) led the Hawks with 13 digs. Sophomore setter Matthew Weingarten (East Moriches, N.Y.) tallied 48 assists in five games. Senior middle hitter Joshua Spiro (Island Park, NY) finished with 12 kills and Jeff Lee (Clifton Par, NY) collected nine kills.
The Hawks will return to action on Feb. 21st when they travel to Mt. St. Vincent for a 7 p.m. matchup.
