Hawks Cruise to 91-61 Win Over Mustangs
NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s basketball team hosted the Morrisville Mustangs Tuesday night and soared to a 91-61 victory. The Hawks led the entire game and were up 42-29 into the intermission. The Mustangs closed the gap to eight in the second half before New Paltz went on a 12-2 run to open the game. Amseshem Foluke-Henderson led the way with 19 points on eight of 11 from the field and grabbed eight boards. Matt Hauser chipped in with 15 points, hitting five of seven from behind the arc. Tony Cannon and Matt Irwin each finished with eight points and Phil Oliver added seven points in five minutes of play. First year Lee Bertram finished with a game high ten rebounds. The Hawks shot 60.4% from the floor as a team, compared to Morrisville’s 28.3%.
SUNY New Paltz returns to action this weekend when they travel to Oswego State on Friday and Buffalo State on Saturday.
