Hawks Fall to Cardinals, 86-66
PLATTSBURGH, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s basketball team fell to the Plattsburgh Cardinals, 86-66, Saturday afternoon. Senior Matt Irwin led the way with 15 points, including four of seven from the arc. Tony Cannon and John Hauser chipped in with 12 points, nine boards and 12 points, eight boards, respectively. Amsehem Foluke-Henderson finished with 10 points and grabbed a game high 12 rebounds.
New Paltz struggled from the line (15-of-26) and couldn’t over come Plattsburgh’s 55.9% field goal shooting. With the loss the Hawks fall to 7-5 on the season and 2-3 in conference play.
The Hawks return to action next weekend for a pair of home SUNYAC contests. On Jan. 19th the SUNYIT Wildcats will be in town followed by the Geneseo Blue Knights on Jan. 20th. Both games will feature ‘Bring a Kid to the Game Night’, as kids 15 and under earn free admission.
