Stellar Free Throw Shooting Carries Hawks to Win

POTSDAM, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s basketball team defeated the Potsdam Bears Friday night 73-61. With the win the Hawks advance to 7-4 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.
The Hawks were made 23 of 32 free throws, including 10 for 11 in the final two minutes, compared to the Bears 5 of 10, which was a key factor in the game. Junior Tony Cannon led the Hawks with 21 points and seven boards, while Amseshem Foluke-Henderson added 17 points, seven rebounds and four steals. John Hauser finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and Matt Irwin added 11 points, nine assists and three steals.
The Hawks return to action on Saturday at 4 pm when they take on the Plattsburgh Cardinals.
