MANHATTAN, NY — The SUNY New Paltz Hawks women’s volleyball team was defeated by the New York University Violets Wednesday evening, 3-0 (30-22, 31-29, 30-19).
Leading the attack for the New Paltz was first year Brittany Coyle with 11 kills, two blocks while hitting .769. Junior Katie Becofsky dished out 30 assists and Nicole Mercandate finished with 14 digs.
Elena Drinka led the way for the Violets with 22 kills and 13 digs while hitting .633. Natasha Boysaw finished with 12 kills.
New Paltz stands at 18-5 on the season and will return to action this weekend in the SUNY/Liberty Tournament held at Union.
